Amore e rabbia

To sisterhood

"Love and rage make me think of a claimed rebirth, angry and loud, powerful and violent, aware and painful, erupting and confused..."

These images are a piece of life built in Rome together with queer transfeminist comrades. They are a start of a photographic archive that aims to make history of what queer folks build from inside their communities, from collective moments in pubblic spaces to fragments of life and intimacy.

They are a set of images that embrace the importance of weaving memories, intersecting stories and leave a trace that is accessible to all.

*Inspired by JEB (Joan E. Biren), a lesbian feminist photographer who documented in USA between the '70s and the '80s the existence of lesbians and queer people in their everyday life.

(among the photos displayed here: the reproduction of two of her photos from the book Eye to eye: portraits of lesbians)
